The DeviantArt Timeline entries from the past few months have discussed how we’re focusing on user experience for DeviantArt and ways to make the site more intuitive. In this journal, we'd like to kick off a discussion on another big design-related milestone: to improve the profile experience on the site, mobile web, and mobile apps.

DeviantArt.com will celebrate its 15th birthday in August 2015. While many online communities have come and gone during the last decade and a half, DeviantArt remains because of our passionate and committed community. In that time, we've celebrated many milestones, and it became apparent we were in need of a place to share our victories and our challenges. And since we want to move toward more complete transparency with the community, what better time to also showcase

Suicide and Self-harm Prevention
Are you going through a difficult time?
If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of suicide or self-harm and are in immediate danger, seek help as soon as possible by calling a local emergency telephone number, a suicide prevention hotline, or by going to the nearest emergency room. At DeviantArt, we care deeply about our community – aiming to provide all our members with a safe and fun environment to create and grow. However, we do not have trained medical professionals who can respond directly to life-threatening emergencies. PSA for Artists! Don't make the same mistake I did
I've been posting some video tutorials to teach aspiring artists my drawing techniques, but I think it's very important to learn from my mistakes as well.
I'm 25 right now, and I've been drawing all my life. I started drawing a lot more and professionally when I was about 19-20. I drew all the time and didn't think much about it. I would draw until I'm in pain, from sitting too long, from not eating because I was in the flow and didn't want to stop. I would get terrible back pains and even heart palpitations from sitting in the same position drawing for so long.
That's when the nails on my right hand started to get weird and lumpy. At first
STEP ONE
Make a post to your DA journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("all I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, ma

Pre-... uh... Core Membership gone
Well as the title says, my Core membership is over, gone, done, kaput.
I can't believe its been exactly 2 YRS since i gave myself a pre-... uh... core membership (it was premium at the time). i did this around the time DA had the buy one, get one free. so in other words, i gave myself a 1yr membership and got the other year free. it's over now, and for the life of me i have forgotten what it is like to have ads show up on my pages (home page, notification (messages), art search).
Anywho, i hope in due time i can give myself a core membership again. it won't be anytime soon since DA raised the price and removed some options of how long you w

If any of you guys are already on it please feel free to post links to your profiles so we can all discover some new art.
